Umbria is rightly known as the green heart of Italy. It may be less well known than Tuscany but it has retained its original hilly landscape covered with oak and chestnut forests. The province is characterized by its spectacular natural beauty with its precipitous hilltops crowned by villages, monasteries, churches and castles.

But Umbria also offers a generous range of culinary delights. Well known are its wines, its cold pressed olive oil, air dried ham, the inimitable pecorino cheese and last but not least the world famous truffles.
